After more than a year of absence, Cub Scouting is returning to Palmyra with a new organization and a larger clientele.

At its November meeting, the leadership of Palmyra United Methodist Church met with Scott Meredith, district scouting executive, to charter a new Cub Scout pack in Palmyra.

The new Cubmaster will be Marcia Bross, who has been involved with scouting for many years and recently was awarded the highest award available for adult volunteers.

This new Cub Scout pack will be a “family pack,” which means boys and girls are invited.

“I am so excited to have a pack here,” said Pastor Eric Anderson of the Palmyra United Methodist Church.

“Scouting made a profound difference in my life, and it can do the same for these kids.   This is a great opportunity for the church and our community.”

The pack is open to boys and girls in kindergarten to fifth grade.  They are currently meeting the first and third Mondays of the month at 4:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church.
