A tower in the West Quincy area which was questioned recently is a communication tower and the owner now has a permit for it.
Teya Stice reported on the tower during Monday’s commission meeting, at which they also received a copy of the new utility ordinance and learned the county has been approved for disaster relief.
According to Stice, the tower, which is located on land owned by David Allen, is a communication tower owned by Jared Murphy.
Murphy was in recently, Stice said, to acquire a permit not only for that tower, but also one near Route B and Route J near BASF, Stice said.
In addition, while he did not get a permit yet, Murphy told Stice he is negotiating to put up another tower near Heimer Construction. Stice informed him he would need a permit if that comes about.
