The Marion County Commission held an abbreviated meeting Monday morning in order to meet with Gov. Mike Parson in Hannibal.
Parson was to tour flooded areas in Northeast Missouri, including stops in Hannibal, Clarksville and Canton.
During their meeting, the commissioners approved an emergency purchase of a new dishwasher for the jail.
At $7,200, the dishwasher is in the price range to normally have to bid it, but with it being an emergency, the commissioners went ahead and approved the purchase.
Sheriff Jimmy Shinn reported the old dishwasher was not repairable.
