Drivers might have to go a little slower along a longer section of Veterans Road and possibly stop following discussion by the Marion County Commission.
During their meeting Monday morning, the commissioners discussed several options to help with traffic issues on Veterans Road, but tabled any options until they can gather more information.
Another accident at the intersection of Veterans Road and West Ely Road led to the commissioners discussing lowering the speed limit through that area as well as considering making the intersection a four-way stop.
If the speed limit is lowered, the section of Veterans Road to Route MM will become 35 mph. While it is already 35 mph at Veteran School, the section that is now 45 mph will be lowered.
In addition, if approved, a four-way stop will be placed at the Veteran Road and West Ely Road intersection as several accidents have occurred at that location, including one last week.
