The individual suspected of stealing electricity and damaging a county building will not be facing criminal charges after a decision by the Marion County Commission.

The commissioner elected to not pursue charges after hearing a report from Palmyra Police Chief Eddie Bogue during Monday’s commission meeting, at which they also tabled an easement for a road project, discussed a zoning map and approved seeking state bids for dump trucks.

In a report to the commissioners, Bogue said he had completed the investigation and said the county should be able to come to an agreement with the suspect to pay for the electricity and repair the building.

Bogue said in his opinion it was a lack of communication from several areas and the problem of one person saying he had permission and the other person saying he did not.
