The Greenwood Cemetery is getting some physical improvements while its board of directors looks to the future to meet changing needs.

Work is about to be completed on a maintenance/office building entrance and parking area, while preparation is underway to offer columbarium/cremation options and pre-need payment plans.

“The cemetery is in strong financial condition, and we as a board have a duty to keep that going while working to maintain and improve what we have,” said Brad Speak, who serves on the cemetery board.

“This cemetery has a history, and progress and improvements are important for our commitment to preserving the rich heritage we have.”

The maintenance/office building has had a storm water drainage issue for sometime, and ongoing work being done by Graupman Construction is designed to fix the issue that leaves water and mud inside the building after heavy rains.
