School employee health insurance was one of the topics of discussion at last month’s Marion County R-2 School board of education meeting.

During the meeting and in the special meeting held March 20, the board also accepted two resignations and hired five individuals.

Superintendent Tony DeGrave shared some finance numbers with the board about fiscal year 2018-19.

Included in that was the fact the district-paid health insurance for full-time employees will have at least a 10 percent increase.

While the situation was discussed, DeGrave noted “it is too early to tell how the impact of the rate increase will play into the overall finance decisions for next year”.
