A race has now formed for Palmyra City Council.

Earl D. Meyers is the latest to file to run in the April Municipal Election, and will go up against Jarrod Spurgeon, who previously filed in Ward 3.

Also filing earlier were Ellen Goodwin, the incumbent council member in Ward 1, and Pat Barns who is running for a first term in Ward 2. They have no opponents for the election as of Monday.

Meanwhile only the three incumbent Palmyra R-I School board members up for election, Oneta Crowe, Stephanie Bross and Doug Meyers,  have all filed to run again.

Four persons, incumbents Craig Spratt, an incumbent, and Shelley Smith, have filed for Marion County R-II School Board, where three seats are up for election.

Candidates must file for election by Jan. 21 to be included on the ballot.
