Baccalaureate music

A baccalaureate ceremony was held in the school gymnasium Sunday afternoon for PHS graduating seniors. Above, John Hume conducts senior members of the choir. Graduation will be held Thursday at the football field.


Graduation will be held for 78 Palmyra High School seniors on Thursday, May 23, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The event will be held at the football field, weather permitting. Otherwise, it will be held in the high school gymnasium.

Events will begin with the processional performed by the PHS band, followed by special music “True Colors” performed by seniors, Rebekah Calnan, Brett Griesbaum and Nicholas Lickfeld.

Superintendent Kirt Malone will introduce the platform as well as this year’s speakers, Hattie Haerr and Kinsey Tiemann.

Larry Seago, vice principal, will present this year’s salutatorian and valedictorian prior to the presentation of the seniors and diplomas by Jared Pontius, high school principal, and Oneta Crowe, board of education president.

The high school band will perform a special  number, “Into the Clouds” between speakers as well as the recessional to end the ceremony. The band is under the direction of John Hume
