School roof and parking lot improvements are being planned at the Marion County R-II School.

During the recent R-II Board of Education meeting, the board reviewed a rough draft of a facility 10 year plan, that will include roof and parking lot repairs.

According to Superintendent Tony DeGrave, the plan is to phase in parking lot work, which will include replacing the asphalt with concrete over time.

He also noted the board is trying to plan for future projects such as bus purchases, school cars and campus equipment.

Bids for those projects will be phased over time as well, with the projects being funded through the capital improvement funds designated for facility updates.
