A new race has formed for county office in the Aug. 4 primary election.
Joshua Parson, Palmyra, filed to be placed on the Republican ballot for assessor, challenging the Republican incumbent, Mark Novak.
Also, Bill Goellner, Palmyra, filed as a Democrat to run for Western District Commissioner. He is the only Democrat to file for any of the county offices up for election.
The filing period ends March 31.
Winners in the August Primary move on to the Nov. 3 election.
