Anna Mae Claggett, 87, passed away on Friday, March 13, at Monroe City Manor, Monroe City, Mo.

Anna Mae was born Aug. 5, 1932 to Virgil and Gladys (Bellamy) Duff, rural Philadelphia, Mo. She married Claudie Claggett on July 2, 1960. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Survivors include one sister, Rosa Ragar; and one brother, Dennis Duff (Geneva), both of Philadelphia; two nephews, David Duff, Archie, Mo.; and Brad Duff, Harrisonville, Mo.; and many cousins.

Mrs. Claggett worked at Crown Shoe Company and American Safety Belt, both in Palmyra; and did in-home care before retiring. 

She volunteered at the Philadelphia Community Center for several years, cooking breakfast.

Anna Mae was active in her church, teaching Sunday School and in the Awana program. She loved singing gospel music, and she played the piano some.

Anna Mae was a people person and loved visiting with family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m. at the Philadelphia Baptist Church. Brother Roger Stevens, Philadelphia Baptist Church, and Brother Dale Begley, Pea Ridge Community Church, will officiate.

Pallbearers will be David and Brad Duff, Larry Bellamy, Del Baldwin, Danny Christy and Bob Cunningham.

Honorary bearers will be Joe Swisher, Marvin Tuley, Fred Cunningham, Kent Cunningham, Earl Michaels, Steve Denemark and Eugene Bellamy.

Visitation will be Friday, March 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City.
