Claudia A. Green

Claudia A. Green, 70, Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 6:26 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Mo. 

Claudia was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Hannibal, to C. T. and JoAnn Howell Hayes. She was married to Donald R. Green on April 10, 1971 in Palmyra, Mo.  He survives.

Other survivors include three children, David Green (Debbie). Palmyra; Doug Green (Lori), Monticello, Mo.; and Tammy Terry (Troy), Houston, Mo.; one sister, Patricia Britt (Jeff), Oxford, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Fessenden, Palmyra; and Lois Bugh of Ewing; eight grandchildren, Carrie Ramey, Ashleigh Green, Derek Green, Megan Green, Dakota Terry, Riley Terry, Kimberly Gaines and Erica Trenhaile and nine great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Pyse.

Claudia retired as a clerk from the United States Post Office in Hannibal. Prior to joining the Post Office, she managed the Merchant’s Credit Bureau in Hannibal for 11 years and also previously worked in accounting at Moorman’s Manufacturing.

Away from work Claudia loved to do counted cross stitch and created many beautiful pieces. A wonderful cook, she baked with passion and was adventurous in the kitchen.  She enjoyed reading cookbooks and was in the process of creating her own. Claudia also loved to read histories and nonfiction books.  

In her younger years she enjoyed camping, boating and spending time at the pool.  Traveling with family or listening to her beloved 1950s and 60s music were a couple of Claudia’s favorites.  

Most of all she loved the moments she shared with family and friends.

Claudia was a Christian by faith.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 11, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.   Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Pallbearers will be Randy Waters, Robbie Dodd, Andy Glascock, John Wheeler, Wayne Willis and Derek Green.

Friends and family are invited to Claudia’s life celebration at a visitation that will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Alpha 1 Foundation.
