Gavin Riley Mullhatten-Bock

Gavin Riley Mullhatten-Bock, 22, Palmyra, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Mo.

Gavin was born July 9, 1997, in Warrensburg, Mo., to John Lee Mullhatten and Angela Marie Bock Mullhatten.

Survivors include his mother, Angela Mullhatten (Robin Robertson), Palmyra; father, John Mullhatten, Hannibal, Mo.; grandparents, Joyce Bock, Palmyra; Frank and Connie Burch, Hannibal; and Arthur Lee Mullhatten, Flagstaff, Ariz.  He is also survived by one sister, Grace Mullhatten, Palmyra; and aunts and uncles, Rachel and Mark Wicker, Heather and Jeff McChristian, Michele and Randy Hopson, Monte and Leila Burch, Brent and Joni Bock, Stevie and Misty Gottman and Caleb and Anne Bock; and numerous cousins and extended family members.

Gavin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bruce Bock; and great-grandparents, Richard and Mary Welty, John Mullhatten, Eleanor Miller and Henry and Esther Bock.

Professionally Gavin was a self-employed computer technician.  He was a graduate of Palmyra High School and attended Hannibal-LaGrange University, Moberly Community College and Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Gavin was a sweet, caring soul who loved nature and his family. He enjoyed going on trips with his friends from college, especially camping and hiking, and he loved creating beautiful things with origami. 

Gavin was an adventurous young man with a thirst for knowledge and discovery. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 6 p.m., at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Pastor Wes Gehrke will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of services, Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
