Harold Lloyd Strait Sr., 81, Mexico, Mo., passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain.

Harold was born July 19, 1937, in Mexico, the son of Samuel Leslie and Nellie Olive (Gentry) Strait. On July 26, 1954, in Mexico, he married Dorothy Mae Bishop. She passed away on Oct. 26, 2003.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Strait, Mexico; and Cynthia (Brian) Cox, Palmyra; one son, Harold (Janet) Strait Jr., Mexico; and four grandchildren, Ryan (Christa) Cox, Camp Point, Ill.; Jason (Nikki) Cox, Eau Claire, Wisc.; Cortney Cox, Hallsville; and Dani Cox, St. Louis.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy; Harold was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Strait.

Mr. Strait was a carpenter most of his life. He had also worked several years for the City of Mexico. 

He liked to garden and fish, but above all, he loved his family dearly.

Funeral dervices will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at Arnold Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Kristofferson officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Centennial Baptist Church. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, Mo. 65265.
