James “Eric” Baker, 57, Palmyra, Mo., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

James was born Oct. 30, 1961, in Hannibal, Mo., the son of James and Elizabeth Lovelady Baker.

Survivors include his brother, John (Judy) Baker, Palmyra; his niece, Sarah Stolte (Brandon Bramblett) and his nephew, John William Baker II (Jessica), all of Palmyra; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Scott Stolte, Sydni Stolte, Kallee Baker and Liam Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eric graduated high school from St. Paul’s College High in Concordia, Mo. He attained his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Seward, Neb.

Professionally he was a copywriter for KGRC Radio.

Eric enjoyed drawing, writing and collecting super hero comic books. He loved Walt Disney, he loved movies and gameshows, thoroughly enjoyed acting in local theatre. He also liked to do impressions. Eric loved spending time with his family.

He was Catholic by faith and attended  St. Joseph Catholic Church of Palmyra.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, April 8, at  Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Father Basil Eruo will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.

Pallbearers will be Will Baker, Jerry Schoenborn, Russell Kruse, Kaleb Burwinkle, Sarah Stolte and Jessica Baker. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, April 8, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Maple Lawn Activity Fund.
