Kenneth Dean Vail, 78, Palmyra, Mo., passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.
Mr. Vail was born Oct. 9, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo., to Grover and Frances Parks Vail. He was married to Rose Joann Russell on Aug. 21, 1970, in Hannibal. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughters, Sonya Lenz (Paul) and Anita Pfeifer (Tom), Quincy, Ill.; Laurie Martinez (Frank), Aztec N.M.; son, Troy Barnett, Palmyra; sister, Shirley Brown, Quincy; grandchildren, Jordan Lenz, Joshua Scranton (Sacha), Brandon Scranton (Alyssa), Josh Martinez, Lauren Martinez and Kaylie Martinez; great-grandchildren, Klayton, Tanner, Kinsley and Brandi.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Robert Vail; and a grandson, Jacob Scranton.
Kenneth graduated from Palmyra High School. Professionally, he was a carpenter and architectural woodworker. He retired from Architectural Woodworking of Palmyra,.
Kenneth enjoyed gardening, fishing and woodworking.
Kenneth was Christian by faith.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 11, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.
