Lt. Colonel John Lawrence Boles, USAF Retired, Colorado Springs, Colo., died in that city on Dec. 31, 2019.  

He was born in Dallas on Dec. 11, 1940, to John and Frances Boles of Forney, Texas. He was married in February 1965 in Palmyra, Mo., to the former Linda Durham.  She survives. 

Additionally, he is survived by a daughter, Julie Feuerbach (Jon), Colorado Springs; a son, Michael Boles (Lara), Ballwin, Mo.; grandsons, Alec Feuerbach, New York, N.Y.; David Feuerbach, Munich, Germany; and Eric Boles, Ballwin; brothers, Joel (Janet) Boles, Spring, Texas; and Andy Boles (Lesli), Dallas; sisters-in-law, Judy Crocker, Quincy, Ill. and Meg Swan, Henderson, Nev.; and brother-in-law, John Durham, Taos, N.M.; and 11 nieces and nephews.

He was a 1964 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and held a graduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, N.Y. 

Lt. Col Boles served his country as a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and after his retirement in 1984, continued to work in the field of aerospace engineering.

Memorial services will be held at a later date with burial at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
