Monte Dean Cassidy

Monte Dean Cassidy, 65, Monroe City, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Monte was born Aug. 5, 1954, in Quincy, Ill., to Titus Philemon Cassidy and Lucille Bernice Johnson Cassidy.

Survivors include one brother, Michael T. Cassidy Sr., Palmyra, Mo.; one sister, Connie Jo James, Oklahoma, Okla.; nephews and nieces, Michael T. Cassidy Jr., Brandon Jair Cassidy, Tramiine Sheena Cassidy and Dean (Shaylyn) and Shauna Jo Mansfield; great-nieces Jahwaun Cassidy, Aaliyah Dean and Braylyn Dean; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Joseph Mansfield Jr.; and his half-sister, Margaret Ann Ayers.

Professionally Monte retired from the BNSF Railroad. He also previously worked as an over-the-road truck driver, as a radiology technician and served as a minister.

Away from work Monte enjoyed fishing and volunteered with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Riding motorcycles or his bicycle near his home were also activities Monte took pleasure in. Traveling across the United States, watching football and spending time with his nieces and nephews were also a few of Monte’s favorites.

Monte attended Warren Baptist Church.

Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Mo. Pastor Al Groner, Pastor Woody Burt and Rev. Mark Howard will officiate.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation that will be  from  5 to 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, with a memorial service at 6 p.m., at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.

Memorialns may be made to the Warren Baptist Church.
