Dear Editor,

I learned of your business issues several, weeks ago. I would like to express my support for the local paper.

A couple of months ago I took a year to write a book about the Hester Mo. General Store. There was no info anywhere in volume about the Hester area. I called you and you supported me through paper clips 50, 60 years old, and rural school pictures from the early 50s and numerous writings on the Sudduth School.

Now, there is a reference book available for review in the Palmyra Library. I want the community to know without your paper, peoples’ good deeds would go unreported, pictures of the community from the 1800s and 1900s  would be lost. Obits and weddings would not be documented.

You are the history book of Marion County. I urge the community to support the paper. As a 48-year member of the American Legion,  documentation of the commanders visit and  the goodness of veterans was reported and noted.

I am happy to subscribe to the paper from my home in Kentucky. Your family and business is known throughout the Central U.S.

Good luck, Merry Christmas and thanks again for bringing the old Hester Store to life 65 years later.

Sincerely,

James Royalty, Jr.
