Dear editor,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank friends and neighbors in Northeast Missouri for another outstanding United Way campaign.  On behalf of the United Way and its agencies I want to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the part you played in this year’s campaign. The teamwork, dedication and enthusiasm carried through to reach our goal.

I especially would like to thank, my wife for everything this past year, my family for being there, and our friends that pulled us through. Like the saying goes “Faith, Family, and Friends.”  We couldn’t have done this without all of you.  I would also like to thank the media for all of their support in helping us get the word out for the much needed support that the United Way of the Mark Twain Area does.

Successful fund raising is never easy.  It requires a firm commitment and a willingness to give time and energy to achieve the optimum goal.

The year was filled with needs globally, nationally and also on the local level and the people of Northeast Missouri responded.   Because of the incredible generosity displayed hundreds of people will receive services from human service programs supported by the United Way of the Mark Twain Area.  Seniors, youth, disabled, families, emergency and quality of life programs will all reach out and make our communities the best they can be.

In the future months the United Way of the Mark Twain Area and its volunteers will work hard to insure credibility, increase public awareness, and impact community planning endeavors.  Our success is your success as we work together to insure the future.

We are grateful and humbled by your trust and support.

Thank you so much for everything you did to make Campaign 2017 a success.  It was and always will be a pleasure working with all of you. Looking forward to the next campaign to be another successful year.

Roy Hark
