The Palmyra High School Science Olympiad team attended the Northeast Regional competition at Truman State University Feb. 29.
PHS placed ninth out of 17 teams represented at the competition.
Students who earned first place in their events will continue their Science Olympiad journey competing at the state tournament at Westminster University on April 4, 2020.
Eight PHS students competed in a total of 18 scientific laboratory-based, construction-based, or test-taking events.
Event awards were earned by the following team members:

Hope Hudson and Emma Wittler, GeoLogic Mapping;
Ji Ni and Evan Nierman, Ornithology;
Jackson Janes, Circuit Lab;
Elijah Edwards, Disease Detectives;
Hudson and Emma Wittler, Forensics; and
Evan Nierman and Tim Wellman, Write It/Do It.
