The PHS varsity boys basketball team began the 2019-20 season in strong fashion with a  74-44 win at home over Louisiana last Monday.

The Panthers put on a strong offensive display, getting out to a 22-12 first quarter lead and going into half time up by 13 before putting the game away with a 15-0 run in the third quarter.

Coach Ryan Wood was glad of the outcome, but indicated during his post-game comments there was still lots of room for improvement.

“I’m pleased with the win, and how things are going right now, because we’ve got a long way to go,” Wood said.

Meanwhile, the Lady Panthers’ season debut had to wait until this Tuesday due to the Louisiana team forced to forfeit because of a lack of players.
