The PHS girls track and field team competed Tuesday at the Jerry Ball Relays at Culver-Stockton College in Canton where they took fifth place out of 13 schools.
Palmyra scored 61 points to finish behind Clark County (131), Hannibal (106.5), Monroe City (103.33) and Liberty (88.5), but ahead of Highland (53), Marion County (48), Knox County (36), Camp Point (33.33), Mendon-Unity (27), Mark Twain (22), North Shelby (20) and Canton (7.33).
“We improved our times in the majority of our events which was great to see,” said Coach Nicholas Koetters.
The Lady Panthers also competed in the highly competitive 60th annual Capital City Relays in Jefferson City, Saturday.
Palmyra scored 12 points and placed 16th out of 19 schools, including the host team, Jefferson City High School, which scored 119 points.
