The Panther bats were silenced at the wrong time.

The PHS baseball team was held to one hit, and South Callaway made its lone run standup to end the Panthers’ season  with a 1-0 sectional loss last Monday in Palmyra.

The Panthers finished with an impressive 22-4 record, but well short of the team’s dream season outcome.

“I was so proud of our team for their effort Monday,” said Coach Mark Loman. “It was disappointing to lose the game, but our guys stayed focused, energetic and united throughout the test.”

Jacob Kroeger and South Callaway’s Peyton Leeper faced off in a classic pitchers’ duel, making every play a potential game decider.
