The PHS varsity golf team took second place in the Clarence Cannon Conference Tournament played on the Norwoods Golf Course in Hannibal last Wednesday.

The Panthers shot a 356 to finish behind only Centralia (343), but ahead of Macon (371), Highland (386), South Shelby (386), Clark County (392), Monroe City (413) and Brookfield (452).

“It was not the team result that we wanted, but all five of our golfers made the All-CCC team,” said Coach Marty Smyser. “I’m  proud of how hard we have been working.”

Bradey Shively and Ragar McKinney led the Panthers with 87s and finished in fifth place overall out of 37 golfers.

Jacob Webster shot a 90 to place 11th, Macon Burch a 92, 14th place and Brock Bollin, 95, 17th place.

Shively and McKinney made the all-conference first team, Webster and Burch, the second team, and Bollin, honorable mention.
