The PHS boys track and field team took first place out of 18 teams at the Montgomery County Invitational last Tuesday. 

The Panthers scored 126 points to finish ahead of North Callaway (72), South Callaway (67), and Van-Far (66).

Jarom Alexander ran his personal best and broke the school record in the 200 meters with a time of 22.60 and took first place.

Scoring points for Palmyra were:

Alexander, first place in the 100 meter, first place in the 200 meters, and third place in the 400 meters;

Brett Griesbaum, first place in the 800 meters and third place in the 1600 meters;

the first place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Tucker Aeschliman, Nicholas Lickfeld, Griesbaum and Abe Haerr;

the first place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Aeschliman, Lickfeld, Tristen Gottman and Alexander;

Haerr, second place in the 800 meters and fourth place in the high jump;

Aeschliman, second place in the 400 meters;

the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Haerr, Landon Nieders, Aeschliman and Griesbaum;

Weston King, second place in discus and second place in shot put;

Nieders, third place in the long jump;

Dylan Redd, third place in pole vault;

Michael Frankenbach, fourth place in javelin;

Conner Roberts, seventh place in pole vault;

Also competing at the meet were Winfield, Bowling Green, Montgomery County, Fatima, New Bloomfield, Russellville, Wright City, Northeast (Cairo), Louisiana, Elsberry, Wellsville, Cuba, Missouri School for the Deaf, Clopton and Silex.
