PHS boys qualified in six events for the Class 3 Missouri Track & Field Championships in Jefferson City this Friday and Saturday.

Qualifying by placing in the top four at the Class 3, Sectional 2 meet at Montgomery County Saturday were Jarom Alexander in the 100, 200 and 400 meters, Brett Griesbaum in the 1,600 meters and the 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 meter relay teams.

Alexander, a senior, placed second in the 100 and 200 meters, both times behind Kemeric Winston of Trinity Catholic.

Alexander finished the 100 meters in 10.96, 0.27 seconds behind Winston, and the 200 meters in 22.23, 0.59 seconds behind Winston.

Alexander took third place in the 400 meters in a time of 52.53, finishing behind Adreion Keyes of McCluer South-Berkley at 50.40 and Derrick Miller of John Burroughs at 51.46.

Griesbaum, a senior, took second place in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:56.22 behind Carson Sanders of Orchard Farm at 4:49.82.

Meanwhile Palmyra’s two relay teams took first place.
