The PHS varsity boys basketball team’s conference title hopes took a hit with a 70-60 loss at Clark County, last Tuesday.
The Panthers, now 15-3 overall and 4-1 in Clarence Conference play, also earned a CCC win at home over South Shelby, Friday.
It was a back-and-forth battle at Kahoka with Palmyra trailing by one after the first quarter but leading by one going into the second half.
Palmyra trailed by two going into the fourth quarter when the Indians won it with free throws while the Panthers got into foul trouble.
The Panthers bounced back with a 64-29 win at home over South Shelby Friday.
Palmyra led by 13 at the half and then went on a 22-9 run to take control of the game by the fourth quarter.
Palmyra also held off Pittsfield late for a 44-42 win during Saturday’s Quincy Notre Dame Shootout in Quincy, Ill..
The Panthers jumped out to a 15-7 lead, but led by just one going into the second half and two by the start of the fourth quarter.
