The PHS varsity football team moved on to the district semifinals with a 44-12 win over Highland Friday.
The third-seeded Panthers (7-3) will go on the road Friday to take on second-seeded Monroe City, which struggled in winning its Class 2, District 6 quarterfinal game, 44-36, over seventh-seeded Clopton-Elsberry.
The winner will advance to the district title game to be played next Friday against the winner of the other semifinal game hosted by top-seeded Clark County against fifth-seeded Macon.
The Indians easily got by Van-Far, 59-14, Friday, while Macon upset fourth-seeded Bowling Green, 42-34.
