The PHS boys track and field team took first place out of 11 teams at the Jerry Ball Relays at Culver-Stockton College in Canton last Tuesday.

Palmyra scored 138.5 points to finish ahead of Monroe City (116.5), Clark County (101.5), Hannibal (94), Highland (73), Knox County (69.5), Camp Point Central (63.5), Liberty (30), Mark Twain (24.5) Mendon-Unity (19) and Canton (10).

The Panthers also competed in the highly competitive 60th annual Capital City Relays at Jeffesron City, where they finished 13th out of 21 teams.

The host team, Jefferson City High School, won the team competition.
