The PHS girls track and field team took eighth place at the Gerald Mansfield Invitational at Macon last Tuesday. 

The Lady Panthers scored 39 points to finish behind Marceline (104.5), Monroe City (79), Kirksville (68), Moberly (58), Putnam County (55), Marshall (48) and Brookfield (47).

Emma Wittler took third place in the pole vault and took sole possession of the school record after clearing the nine foot mark Tuesday.

“We ran some good races,” said Coach Nicholas Koetters after the meet Tuesday.

“Big event of the night for the girls was Wittler taking third place in the Pole Vault,” he said. 

“Discus throwers both PR’ed taking second and third which was great to see.”

“We ran a different group of girls in the 4 x 400 and ran our best time of the season to take fourth place,” Koetters said.

Also placing in the top eight for the Lady Panthers were:

the second place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Sophie Hoerr, Grace Krigbaum, Jansen Juette and Wittler;

Juette, third place in the triple jump;

the sixth place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Bella Perkins, Isabelle Goldinger, Lydia Szarka and Lauren Reid;

Dyoni Mundy, seventh place in the high jump;

Also competing at the meet were Macon, South Shelby, Father Tolton, Schuyler County and Paris.
