Lady Panthers open season Saturday

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to open the 2020 season, as usual, during this weekend’s 13th annual Lead Off Classic Tournament hosted by Troy-Buchanan High School in Troy.

However, the tournament is trimmed down and spread out this year due to COVID-19 precautions.

It will actually be a four-pool round-robin tournament with Palmyra playing all three games Saturday actually in Winfield.

The Lady Panthers will open play at 10 a.m. against Winfield, then continue with games at noon against Liberty, and at 2 p.m. against Fulton.

Fans will be allowed in, but with precautions. Fans are required to wear masks to enter and will be expected to social distance themselves.
