Taste of Palmyra cancelled for 2020

Taste of Palmyra has fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Palmyra Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday the annual one-evening street fair on Main Street was being cancelled for this year.

“As the number of positive COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Marion County, we believe this is the right decision based on the information we have today,” said the Chamber in a press release. “The Palmyra Chamber Board of Directors prioritizes the health and safety of our community.”

The event, which is normally held the last Monday of October, would have been the 14th annual one.

Featuring food and craft vendors as well as game booths, Trunk-or-Treat, live entertainment and antique tractor and classic car shows, the event traditionally draws large crowds to the downtown business district.
