PHS girls golfers take third at Brookfield
The PHS girls golf team took third place at the 13-team Brookfield Invitational Tournament Thursday.
Mallory Comstock had a big day, shooting a career-best 87 to win individual title honors, a shot ahead of Brookfield’s Demi Donway.
Overall, Palmyra shot a 414 to finish 23 strokes behind first-place Brookfield and just one shot behind runner-up Kirksville. New Bloomfield was fourth with a 435. Other schools competing were Princton, Macon, Putnam County, Westeran, Glasgow, Marceline, Schuyler County, LaPlata and Southwest.
Also competing for Palmyra were Mallory Sublette, tied for 12th place with a 106; Madi Jawad, 15th place with a 108; Kylie Begley, tied for 18th with a 113; and Taytum Parsons, 28th with a 122.
The JV squad played for the final time this season at Macon Last Tuesday, finishing in a second-place tie with the home squad.
Competing for Palmyra were Kylie Begley, 54; Kaylee Warning, 63; Taytum Parsons, 63; Ella Goldinger, 63; and Ava Weiman, 68.
