As the boys team’s lone representative, Hathaway came in with a time of 19:29.

“Casey had a fantastic season,  medaling in multiple meets, being named second team all-conference and earning all-district honors along the way,” said Panther coach Nicholas Koetters. “This was Casey’s first year of running cross county at the high school level, but he made up for a lack of experience by being very competitive and working hard all the time.

‘Casey left a mark for our younger runners by showing them what it takes to get to the state level and how hard you have to work and push yourself if you want to get better and achieve goals.”

The state meet was held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
