PHS wrestlers begin seeing some mat action

The PHS varsity wrestling team opened the season, but with limited action on the eve of the holiday break.

Most recently the Panthers battled Francis Howell at a dual tri-meet at Timberland Saturday.

Palmyra lost all six actual matches in a 67-6 loss to Francis Howell.

The Panthers also hosted North Callaway Friday, and went 2-4 in actual matches for a 59-21 loss.

Winning matches were:

Kaden Crane (106), in a fall at 1:19, over Cashton Holloway; and

Brayden Stevens (132) in a 2-0 decision over Riley Humphrey.

The Panthers opened the season at a tri-meet hosted by Fatima High School last Monday, losing to both the host team and Blair Oaks with limited individual competition.

The Panthers went 2-3 in actual matches in their 33-28 loss to Blair Oaks.

Winning their matches were:

Kaden Crane (113) in a 13-4 major decision over Aidan Bollinger; and

Grayson Stevens (145) in a fall at 0:19 over Luke LePage.

Palmyra went 0-3 in actual matches in their 48-24 loss to Fatima.

In girls action, Anna Ragar (117) won by fall at 1:28 over Kylie Steward, during a team 54-12 loss to Timberland, Saturday.
