Charles E. Poage, 90, Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 8:44 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo.

Charlie was born May 19, 1930, in Hannibal, to Cyril Frank and Evelyn Louise Roach Poage. He was married to Barbara Ragar on March 30, 1956, in Palmyra. They were married for 64 years, and she survives.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as SGT 1st Class.
Charlie worked his whole career with the United States Postal Service. He retired as the postmaster for the Palmyra Post Office.
During his lifetime, he traveled to every state including to Alaska, driving the Alcan Alaska Highway which is over 1,500 miles long. He loved to camp and fish during his travel adventures.
Charlie attended the Palmyra United Methodist Church.
A funeral service with full military honors performed by American Legion Post #174 Boots-Dickson will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Pastor Eric Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Grandview Burial Park in Hannibal.
Pallbearers will be Bill Morris, Chuck Hoehne, Mark David, George Wisdom, Dick Disselhorst and Steve Disselhorst.

Friends and family are invited to Charlie’s life celebration at a visitation that will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 2, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
