Filing deadline nears

There are no new filings for city council and school board with the deadline nearing.

The city of Palmyra has a full slate of candidates but no races as of Monday, the day before the filing deadline.

The slate for the April 6 election includes Rusty Adrian, for Mayor, and Brock Fahy, an incumbent for city council in Ward 1, Andrew Salsman, in Ward 2, and Pam Behring, an incumbent, in Ward 3.

Darin Redd, an incumbent, and Andrew Lehenbauer are the only two who have filed for the Palmyra R-I School Board, and nobody had filed yet for the Marion County R-II School Board.

Filing has also been under way for the Palmyra Fire Protection District, Marion County Ambulance District, Marion County Nursing Home District and Marion County Emergency Services boards.

There was one filing reported for Marion County Public Water Supply District No. 1 Board of Directors,

Mark Lovelace, the incumbent, filed to continue representing Sub-District No. 3.
