Election filing ends with no races formed
The filing period for the April 6 election ended Jan. 19 with no races but with complete slates of candidates for Palmyra City Council and the Palmyra R-I and Marion County R-II school boards.
Rusty Adrian was the lone person to file for mayor of Palmyra and will be the presumed replacement for Loren Graham who elected not to run for re-election.
The city council candidates are Brock Fahy, the incumbent from Ward 1, Andrew Salsman, in Ward 2, and Pam Behring, the incumbent, in Ward 3.
Darin Redd, an incumbent, and Andrew Lehenbauer are the only two who filed for the Palmyra R-I School Board, and Jared T. Stewart, an incumbent, and Joel Swisher, filed for Marion County R-II School Board.
The school board candidates will not appear on the April 6 ballot since there are no races.
Filing has also been under way for the Palmyra Fire Protection District, Marion County Ambulance District, Marion County Nursing Home District and Marion County Emergency Services boards.
There was one filing reported for Marion County Public Water Supply District No. 1 Board of Directors,
Mark Lovelace, the incumbent, filed to continue representing Sub-District No. 3.
