Catherine L. Cooksey, 88, died April 10, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

She was born Dec. 2, 1932 to Freida Marie and Clarence Withers in Mendon, Ill.. On Feb. 11, 1952, she married Wayne Cooksey in Springdale, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2003.
Survivors include children, Roger Cooksey, Palmyra; Janet Winfield (Rick), Tulsa; and Bruce (Anne) Cooksey, Clark, Mo; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Catherine was a graduate of Monroe City High School in Monroe City, Mo.
She worked at the shoe factory in Palmyra as well as at Main Stop and Breaktime convenience stores. In addition, she managed the Withers Mobile Home Court.
When she had time, she enjoyed gardening and yard work. She and her husband, square danced in their younger years, and throughout her life, Catherine enjoyed walking.
Catherine was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra.
As per her request, her body was cremated.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the Durham Cemetery in Durham, Mo. Rev. Wes Gerke will officiate. Her ashes will be buried following a brief service.
