Panthers earn top seed in district tournament

The Panthers will not only get to host the district tournament May 15-18, they will also compete as the top seed.
Palmyra received a first-round bye for the Class 3, District 7 Tournament to be played at Flower City Park.
They are set to play in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Monday, May 17, against the winner of the May 15 quarterfinal game between fourth-seeded Mark Twain and fifth-seeded Highland.
The winner of Monday’s game will advance to the championship game at 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, against the winner of Monday’s other semifinal between second-seeded Clark County and third-seeded Mornoe City.
The district champions will advance to sectionals Tuesday, May 25, and play the winner from District 8 composed of top-seeded Father Tolton Regional Catholic, second-seeded South Callaway, third-seeded North Callaway, fourth-seeded South Shelby and fifth-seeded Missouri Military Academy.
The class 3 quarterfinals will be played Thursday, May 27, at sites to be decided with the semifinals and finals being played at Ozark’s U.S. Baseball Stadium June 2-3.
