Twelve seniors will be accepting their diplomas during commencement exercises at Marion County R-II School Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.
The evening begins and ends with “Pomp and Circumstance” performed by Lori Byers. The invocation will be provided by Rev. Dewayne Larenson.
Carson Bock will follow with special music, then the senior video, which will be introduced by Wendy Plunkett.
The senior address will be given by Morgen Oles, one of the graduating seniors, which will be followed by the introduction of this year’s valedictorian and salutatorian by Savannah O’Bryan, principal.
Scholarships and awards will be announced by Randi Clayton, counselor, who will be followed by the military enlistment recognition by Sgt. Daniel Watts, U.S. Army.
Diplomas will then be presented by Randy Spratt, board president; to the members of the senior class, who will be announced by Superintendent Jason Keilholz.
Following the presentation of the diplomas, senior Sam Bridgman will lead his classmates in the turning of the tassels.
Rev. Larenson will conclude the event with a benediction.
He will also be the guest speaker at baccalaureate services, which will be held prior to graduation at 6 p.m. in the gym.
Delaney Huffman, a senior, will provide special music in “Whenever You Remember”, with scripture will be read by seniors, Landen Holt and Jordan Chatfield.
Byers will again provide a processional and recessional music, and Rev. Jack Schultz will provide the invocation and a benediction.
