Full county fair line up starts Saturday

The Marion County Fair returns with full entertainment in 2021
Events kick off with the parade on Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m., followed by the Knights of Columbus barbecue on the Courthouse lawn at 11 a.m. and the car show in Flower City Park, starting at noon.
The Marion County Fair queen contests will be held Saturday, starting at 4:30 p.m. with the pre-junior and junior miss, then the queen at 5:30 p.m.
The Tate Shade Bull Bash will then begin at 7 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 1, is Church Night at the Fair starting at 7 p.m., while Monday’s events include the Little Mister and Miss at 6:15 p.m.
Tuesday will be the baby contest on the Talent Stage at 6:15 p.m. with the Garden Tractor Pull at 5:30 p.m. in the arena, followed by the tractor pull at 6:30 p.m.
Carnivals rides will also be open from Tuesday through Saturday.
Wednesday’s events kick off with Karen’s Dance Academy at 6 p.m. and 4-wheeler races, starting at 8 p.m.
The Art Show opens in Floral Hall on Wednesday and continues through Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.
The pee wee goat and sheep show will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 4, while the pee wee calf show will be on Friday, Aug. 6.
Thursday’s events include the pedal tractor pull at 7 p.m. and the super cross races at 8 p.m.
The annual demolition derby will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.
In addition to the antique tractor poker run Saturday morning and the tractor games Saturday afternoon, the horseshoe contest will be held at noon and the amateur talent contest at 7 p.m.
The super pull truck and tractor pull gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in the arena.
Junior fair events actually begin on Thursday, July 29, with the archery contest at the Swine Barn beginning at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, July 30, is the trapshooting contest at the West Quincy Gun Club at 5 p.m.
Shooting events continue on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at Flower City Park with the interview judging taking place on Sunday, Aug. 1, in the Sesquicentennial Building.
Junior fair events also include robotics at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, horse show on Tuesday, Aug. 3 and Clover Kids Show also Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Wednesday will be a busy day for the kids with the poultry show at 9 a.m., the goat show at 3 p.m. and the rabbit show at 4 p.m.
In addition, on Thursday, the 4-H and FFA members will be busy with the bacon judging at 9 a.m., the swine show at 4 p.m. and the country cured ham judging at 5:30 p.m.
Friday will be the beef show at 10 a.m. with the livestock sale on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 9 a.m.
