The Palmyra City Council Thursday approved the purchase of land next to the Mo. 168 East ramp.
By a 5-0 vote, the council approved the purchase of 21.4 acres from Weatherstone Real Estate, LLC at a total cost of $275,000.
Half of the amount will be paid at the time of closing and the remaining amount will be due within a year from the closing date.
The city has been working to acquire right-of-way for the construction of an outer road between Mo. 168 and Marion City Road on the east side of U.S. 61.
