The PHS girls golf team appears poised to build off last year’s successful campaign that saw the squad send three to state.
“We are lucky enough to return everyone from last year’s great team,” said Coach Chris Parsons, noting that all three state qualifiers, senior, Mallory Comstock, and juniors, Mallory Sublette and Kylie Begley, are back and ready to give it another run.
Also back is senior, Maddie Jawad, who fell a heart-breaking one shot away from going to state last year.
“With all back and knowing how close we were, expectations for this group are very high,” Parsons said.
Also returning to the squad after having strong seasons last year and spending “significant time on the course” during the summer are junior, Ella Goldinger, and sophomore, Taytum Parsons.
“Ava Weiman and Hailey Begley (both sphomores) and Kaylee Warning, a junior, round out this group and they are also ready for a strong sophomore season it seems through the first week,” Parsons said.
The Lady Panthers open the season this Friday at a tri-meet hosted by Columbia Hickman.
