The PHS girls golf team opened the 2021 season with a third place finish out of four teams at a meet Friday hosted by Columbia Hickman.
The Lady Panthers shot a 195 to finish behind Father Tolton, 167, and Capital City, 179, but ahead of Columbia Hickman, which didn’t card a team score.
Mallory Comstock led Palmyra with a 44.
“Which is a great start to the season,” said Coach Chris Parsons.
Comstock was followed on the team by Mallory Sublette, 47, Taytum Parsons, 52, Ella Goldinger 52, and Maddie Jawad, 53.
“I’m pretty happy with our scores on a tough La Nichol course,” Parsons said.
Palmyra was back in action this week at Jefferson City Helias, Monday and Moberly, Tuesday. The team then travels to Mexico this Thursday.
Districts were set this past week and Palmyra was placed in Class 1 District 1 along with Belle, California, Centralia, Crocker, Duchesne, Eugene, Hallsville, Lutheran South, Lutheran St. Charles, New Bloomfield, Paris, South Callaway, St. Francis Borgia and Villa Duchesne.
