The PHS varsity football team was run over by Bowling Green for six rushing touchdowns in a 45-0 rout at home Friday.

Panther defenders Brayden Madden and Luke Triplett wrestle a Bobcat running back to the ground.
Sophomore running back, Marcus Starks, scored four of the touchdowns and rushed for 210 yards of the Bobcats’ 371 yards on the ground game that left the Panthers with an 0-2 record to start the season.
Meanwhile, Palmyra’s offense struggled from the get-go ,managing just 101 yards of total offense including 86 on the ground.
Starks scored the first three touchdowns from 41, 24 and six yards in helping the Bobcats (2-0) to a 24-0 halftime lead.
Junior quarterback, Dylan Dalton and senior running back, Cooper Kiel, added third quarter scores before Stark capped the scoring with a 59-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter.
There was very little for the large crowd of home fans to cheer about as the Panthers failed to put any kind of potent drive together the entire game.

Panther quarterback, Aaron Ritchey, gets caught from behind by a Bowling Green defender during Palmyra’s 45-0 loss Friday.
Sophomore quarterback, Aaron Ritchey, completed two of five passes for 15 yards while rushing for a 24 yards, second best
on the team.
Senior running back, Nolyn Richards, gamed 30 yards on 11 carries to lead the team.
Leading tacklers for Palmyra were Noah Welty, 6.0, Landyn Smith, 5.5 and Alex Wilson, 5.0.
Brayden Madden had the team’s lone sack.
Ryan McKeown had two kick returns for 30 yards, while Ethan Redd and Smith both had two returns for 17 yards each.
Bowling Green never had to punt in the contest.
Palmyra will now move into Clarence Cannon Conference play this Friday when they travel to Macon (1-1),
The Tigers are coming off of a 21-14 loss to Duchesne after winning their season opener, 42-41, over Kirksville.
