PHS girls tennis team earns victories over Father Tolton, Kirksville, falls to Hannibal

The PHS varisty girls tennis team went to 8-4 on the season with victories over Father Tolton and Kirksville and a loss to Hannibal.
The Lady Panthers capped the week with a 7-2 win at Father Tolton in Columbia, Thursday.

Winning singles matches were Maura Gottman, 8-1, over Claire Condict; Molly Gottman, 8-3, over Grace Monsees; Jaynee Durst, 8-4, over Catherine Cameron; and Abbey Mann, 8-5, over Ryley Freeman.
Winning doubles matches were Katie Rindom and Maura Gottman, 8-3 over Monsees and Cayleigh Neuner; Molly Gottman and Durst, 8-4, over Margaret Duncan and Brinkley Decker; and Mann and O’Brien, 9-7, over Freeman and Delaney Coyle.
The junior varsity squad also won, 7-3, to go to 9-0-1 on the season.
Winning doubles matches were Hadlie Kroeger and Emmalee Drebes, 6-1; Elizabeth Salo and Taytum White, 6-3; Rilee Shrum and Natalie Bartz, 6-0; Kenzie Bollin and Laura Noland, 6-1; Devyn Spratt and Ruby Comstock, 6-4; Ashlyn Akerson and Lakeyn Smith, 6-2; and Drebes and Shrum, 6-1.
Palmyra swept Kirksville at home Tuesday, 9-0.

Winning singles matches were: Rindom, 9-8 (7-2 tiebreaker), over Gracie Rienmenschneider; Maura Gottman, 8-2, over Maren Elmore;
Molly Gottman, 9-8 (7-4 tiebreaker), over Madisyn Crawford; Durst, 8-0, over Brynn Williams; Mann, 8-2, over Anna Eitel; and O’Brien, 8-3, over Syr Ava Stremel Slaughter.
Winning doubles matches were: Rindom and Maura Gottman, 8-2, over Riemenschneider and Crawford; Molly Gottman and Durst, 9-7, over Elmore and Eitel; and Mann and O’Brien, 8-3, over Stremel Slaughter.
The JV squad also won, 4-3.

Winning doubles matches were: Ava Browning and Maggie Keim, 6-3; Salo and White, 6-4; Shrum and Bartz, 6-1; and Bollin and Noland, 6-2.
The Lady Panthers lost at home to Hannibal, 8-1, Monday.
Molly Gottman earned the only victory, a singles win, 8-6, over Ireland Lomax.
The JV squad faired better, winning, 5-4.
Winning doubles matches were: Maura Meyer and Browning, 6-2; Keim and Salo, 7-5; White and Shrum, 6-4; Bartz and Bollin, 6-2; and Avery Compton and Spratt, 6-3.
