The Lady Panthers advanced to sectionals after winning the Class 1, District 8 team championship by topping Mexico on its home courts Thursday night.

Winning singles matches were Maura Gottman, 6-4, 6-2, over Katherine Gooch; Jaynee Durst, 6-2, 6-2 over Estella Lopez; and Jeorgia O’Brien, 6-2, 6-2, over Winona Whelan.
Winning doubles matches were Katy Rindom and Maura Gottman, 8-6, over Gooch and Shelby Kennemore and Molly Gottman and Durst, 8-0, over Whelan and Lillian Yager.
The Lady Panthers advanced to the district championship match with a 5-0 win over Moberly, Thursday.
Winning singles matches were Molly Gottman, 6-1, 6-0, over Aleiya Myers and Durst, 6-0, 6-1, over Teagan Smith.
All three doubles pairs won their matches including Rindom and Maura Gottman, 8-1, over Smith and Kristyn Kruse; Molly Gottman and Durst, 8-3, over Myers and Hallie Kroner; and Abbey Mann and O’Brien, 8-4, over Samantha Carl and Catelyn Roberts.
The district championships were supposed to be played in Palmyra, but were moved to Mexico due to the weather.
